General Links :

• Sky Publications  -ProbablytheBEST site for Amateur Astronomy. These are the people who publish the magazine Sky and telescope ! They have the biggest collection of links to anything related to amateur astro.
• Astro links - The links page of Sky Pub.
• Akkana's Page - A page by an amateur astronomer with lots of useful links.
• Ondago's page - Another such page.
• Astro cafe - Good stuff, including an 'Ask the astronomer'. They say this is a page for the 'Astronomically disadvantaged' !
• Data centre for Amateurs.
• Students for Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) - a nice page with lots of links.
• Jay Ryan's Comic Page - has all of Ryan's comics, each about some aspect of amateur astronomy.
• APOD- archives of the Astronomy Picture Of the Day site.
• HST- The Hubble Space Telescope.
• Chandra X-Ray Observatory- The equivalent of HST in the X-Ray domain.
• NASA Image exchange- search the NASA Database for an image or a category of images.
• NASA-CORE- has links to ALL educational materials provided by NASA for educators.
• Recent IAUCs- recent communications to the Intl Astronomical Union

Star maps and suchlike :

Starchart map server - Absolutely the GREATEST site. You can get postscript files of all constellation maps. Better still, you can input the coordinate range of your interest, your place, time and date and it will make you a star map of a limiting magnitude of your choice.

This Week's Sky at a glance - Again in the Sky Pub. homepage.

Space Calendar - It is a calendar maintained by JPL, NASA which lists all events happening in the sky for each day. A large fraction of it has to do with artificial satellites but that can't be avoided.

Whats up - Has information on what is up in the sky for a given time and place with maps provided alongwith.

Starchart links - links to other online starcharts in the Sky Pub. homepage.

Deep Sky Objects :

The Messier Album - the most comprehensive information about every Messier object.

The NGCIC project - the page for the NGCIC project (NGC and IC are the two largest catalogues of deep sky objects which are useful to amateurs as well).

The NGC page - The NGC page at SEDS. Has a huge amount of links to other pages on NGC objects.

Our Moon :

• Akkana's Moon page -  has a great set of links to pages which have moon maps.
• The moon illusion - or why the moon (and the sun) look bigger near the horizon.
• Touring the moon with binoculars.

Eclipses :

• Eclipses - the pretty informative eclipses (solar and lunar) page of Sky Pub. with useful links.
• NASA's solar eclipse page.

Comets :

• Comet page - of Sky Pub. There is information on all comets which are up in the sky at that moment. Also has a very good set of links to other comet pages.
• CfA Comet page - Has the best ephemeris I have seen, on all comets visible at that moment.
• CfA comet magnitudes - Has observed magnitudes of all comets visible.
• Kronk's page - a source for comets and meteor showers.
• Pereira's page - Has data on all recent comets.
• NASA's page for comets.
• Leonids page of NASA.

     Planets :

• Solar system simulator - provides views of the solar system for user defined inputs. Quite a neat site.
• ALPO - the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers homepage. This is largely  an amateur astronomy association and there are different `sections' for each planet. Is useful mainly if one does serious amateur work on planets.
• Minor planet reports - is the clearing house for new discoveries etc.
