Objectives:    

We, the Cultural Committee of IISc, are here to add that bit of zing to your otherwise monotonous life. It is meant to make life more fun-filled, artistic and interesting. It provides the platform for students to go beyond their academic quest and explore their creative and artistic sensibilities.

The cultural team of IISc includes many clubs such as Rhythmica - Music group, Thirkan - Dance group, Dramatics group and Quiz club etc that organize various cultural events and extra-curricular activities like Musical evenings, Plays and Dramas, Dances, Quizzes etc throughout the year.

Our goal is to provide a vibrant community where people can come together to celebrate and relax.

Plans for 2009-10:

1. The spirit of new comers is uplifted with numerous celebrations happening in the beginning of their session such as the welcome organized by the Students' Council, Gymkhana and various other student groups.

2. The cultural diversity as demonstrated on our campus will be celebrated by organizing different regional festivals to make the whole community familiar about different cultures and traditions that make our nation beautiful.

3. Vibrations, or 'Vibes' as it is popularly known is an extremely prestigious event and a highlight in the calendar of IISc, was last held in 2005 and unfortunately did not continue after that. Lovely memories of vibrations can be recalled here. After a sabbatical of 4 years, the cultural committee of Students' Council is planning to bring back vibrations in Jan 2010, with high emotional energy and sweaty excitement. A number of activities and the events that challenge the potential of students from all over the campus and outside will be conducted. Series of events like mimicry, stalls, debates, fashion shows, Indian dance, western dance, Indian music will take place.
