Students' Council

Objectives:

The committee plays a major role as a body bringing together the students and their embodiment, the council. It aims in communicating all the student-related developments occurring in the campus. It communicates matters discussed between the SC and the administration or other initiatives taken by the SC for the student’s community. At the same time, it also tries to communicate the students’ thoughts, problems and criticism to the council.

On a whole, this community aims in bridging the gap between the students and SC by assisting every other committee in reaching out to the students. In its efforts in doing so it also aims in arousing general quest and curiosity in students in scientific areas beyond the scope of their curricular boundaries.

Plans for 2009-10:

     1) Pamphlets: Distribution of pamphlets in order to announce any recent development or notify any urgent happenings.

     2) Posters: Advertisement regarding conducting of programs or announcements of some drives.

     3)  Press Release: For the purpose of highlighting various events happening in IISc for the press to bring it to the notice of other public.

     4)  Brochures:  Are for communicating with faculties or companies as part of promotional materials.

     5)  Students’ Communication: The students are able to communicate to the SC by writing their suggestion in the boxes kept at various places in the campus. They can also reach out to the SC by writing to us in the mail-id. Students’ opinion can also be obtained by survey of various initiatives, events and problems taking place in the campus.

      6)  Lecture Series:  Eminent speakers and experts are invited to address the students on a wide spectrum of subjects.
