About the Speaker

Shri M Natarajan took over as the Scientific Adviser to Raksha Mantri, Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development and DG R&D in 2004. He has been associated with MBT Arjun programme since its inception and was appointed Programme Director in 1987. Later, he took over as Director, CVRDE, Avadi, in December 1989. He was appointed Distinguished Scientist in March 1999 and served as Chief Controller (ACE) at DRDO HQrs from January 2001 to August 2004. The continued hard work and innovative design approach and dedication of the scientists and the technicians of CVRDE under the leadership of Shri Natarajan resulted in India's first indigenous state-of-the-art Main Battle Tank Arjun.
